Eat your heart out Masterchef - our Food Lovers Activity Break at Nutley Edge turns on the style

17th February 2017

The warm, comforting smell of baking enveloped Nutley Edge Cottages this month. Eight guests were welcomed on our latest Activity Break for adults with learning disabilities and autism spectrum conditions. This month's theme was very much culinary-focussed. Guests donned their aprons and got to work on their tasty creations.

In February we had our first 'Food Lovers' Activity Break at Nutley Edge. This was also our first 5 day break. Guests got to enjoy a week full of baking and cooking and a day trip to Brighton to test out the local culinary delights.

On the menu the guests made vegetable soup, shepherd's pie, banana muffins, carrot cake and much more. All the guests received their very own chef hats and aprons and won prizes for 'best cook', as well competing in various other games and activities. Check out some of the photos here:

Our Food Lover break was such a resounding success that we are looking to hold another 'Food Lovers' break in the future. Well done to our members of support staff, Lisa Chandler and Maxine Tetteh, for running the break. Your enthusiasm and meticulous planning helped guests have a fantastic holiday.

Do you have a learning disability or autism spectrum condition, or know somebody who does? Would you like to come on holiday with us to Nutley Edge? Just give us a call, or send us an email, and we'll explain more. Just ask for Florence:
