Supported Housing Management

We work in partnership with social housing providers and private sector landlords to provide and manage accessible, well-maintained homes for vulnerable people. We manage over 800 homes across north and east London and support vulnerable people to maintain their homes and sustain their tenancies.

Our service plays an important role in supporting vulnerable people to live in their own homes and stay truly independent.

How we support vulnerable people to maintain their homes:

We fit out, repair and furnish homes

When we take over the management of a property, we embark upon a programme of improvements to ensure that the housing is of a decent standard for the people that we support. Where necessary, we decorate, provide quality furniture and ensure our housing meets fire safety regulations. We also clean and maintain communal areas and gardens, as well as providing a free mobile handyman service to carry out minor repairs.

We maintain and improve people’s homes

Property inspections, improvement works and regular health and safety inspections are all things that we do to keep our homes in a good state of repair for our residents.

We enable people to better manage their income

We support people to better manage their money, live to a budget and pay their rent, helping them to stay truly independent. We also maximise people’s incomes by ensuring they access the right housing and welfare benefits.

We get people involved in where they live

Our service is a partnership between us and our residents. We support people to play an active role in where they live by undertaking quality assessments, having their say at residents’ meetings and providing feedback about how we are doing.

How to get a home with Outward

We can only take housing referrals from local authority housing departments, social services or specific health services, such as community mental health teams. To be eligible for a home within one of our schemes, you must be referred by one of these bodies.
